Pirate Aliens (also referred to as The Reapers) are the treacherous aliens that first appeared on March 23, 2011. As of August 10, 2011, The Pirates have pulled back to their three maps 5-1, 5-2, and 5-3. Once they decide to invade our galaxy again, they will be found in the Upper Maps, due to their portals being in 4-5. Pirate Booty also appeared when the Pirates arrived in DarkOrbit.

List of Pirate aliens

Below is the list of current pirates found in-game, they are ordered from weakest to strongest:

5-1, 5-2, and 5-3

In the appearance of the pirate Alien, they have brought with them three maps:

You must be level 16 or higher in order to jump on the first map, 5-1, which the portals are located on 4-5. You must first attain level 12, then head over to 4-5. The Pirate maps are Battle-Maps, and are not considered PVP maps, so you will see Pirate Aliens and other enemies in there. You can also find the new Ore, Palladium in 5-1 and 5-3 which can be traded for Galaxy Gate Energy. Starting at 5-1, you can only go to 5-1 from 4-5, 5-2 from 5-1, and 5-3 from 5-2 due to the jump portals being rigged to only go one way. So that means the only way to escape these maps are to exit 5-3 safely, or to be destroyed.

These maps are highly dangerous to anyone due to there being swarms of Pirates at once. There is also a new mechanic called 'mist' found in these maps that uncloaks you if you are cloaked and enter it as well as squared blocks and serve sort of a 'maze' function. If you try to go around, be cautious as to Pirates have placed mines all around and can deal a large percent of damage per mine (the damage is proportional to your amount of HP). The Pirate dock is a Demilitarized Zone however, giving you a bit of relief. Each map has a sort-of maze-like design making it more easy to run into trouble.

The radiation zone in these maps is deadly, dealing 10,000 damage per second regardless of what ship you have.

Trivia

  • The ship designs and the name "Reapers" are a reference to the Reavers in the Firefly/Serenity universe, treacherous, cannibalistic humans turned mad by experimental chemicals.
