Skylab

The Skylab is where you can upgrade, collect, create, and send ore to your ship. It has three components that each have a major use, those being Collectors, Modules, and Refineries. Working together, these can produce ores that are refined into producing the further rare type ores. On the Skylab page, if you click on any one of the panels, you can view more information, upgrade, and the productivity of the selected module. New players begin with a few modules while the rest have to be built before using them.

Collectors[]

In the Skylab, the collectors are used to collect the type of ore that is labeled, and depending on the level, how much of it is collected, those being:

Modules[]

  • Transport module (cannot be upgraded)
  • Solar module
  • Storage module
  • Basic module (cannot be de-activated)
  • Xeno module

Refineries[]

Guide to using the Skylab[]

When starting off using the Skylab, start by building the Terbium collector as it sells for the most credits and allows you to upgrade your current ship much quicker. Second, build an Endurium collector, before building the Prometium collector. Next build a Prometid or Duranium refinery which allows you to use the Transport module to transport ores from the Skylab, to your ship. Now you will need to upgrade your Basic module and Solar module.

Build up your collectors (left side) and modules (middle) several levels before you do anything to your refineries (right side). You can go begin upgrading your Xeno module early, as it is fairly cheap. Throughout upgrading, keep in mind to have left side at least one level higher than the right side, this will help keep you from running out of the ores needed to continue the overall process. The same goes for the three different sections on the right side; Keep Promerium and Seprom refineries at least one level lower than Prometid and Duranium. Lastly, let each separate stage build a surplus of ores before begining the next. i.e. build a surplus on your left side before starting to level right side, build up surplus Prometid and Duranium before before producing Promerium.

If you are new to the game and don't use Seprom and still save for bidding on Goliaths and purchasing Flax then your Skylab should be something like this:

  • Basic module: 12
  • Solar module: 11
  • Storage module: 11
  • Prometium collector: 11
  • Endurium collector: 11
  • Terbium collector: 11
  • Prometid refinery: 10
  • Duranium refinery: 10
  • Xeno module: 10
  • Promerium refinery: 9
  • Seprom refinery: 1

This way you make Promerium at 504 units per hour which is almost equal to the transfer rate: 500 units per hour.

FAQ's[]

Starting out[]

You start with 100 Prometium and 100 Endurium. Use these ores to build your Endurium and Terbium collectors. There will only be enough for those two collectors at the start, so you have to send 50 of each ore by using the Transport module. Once the transport is complete, build the final collector.

Cannot upgrade collectors, modules, or refineries?[]

The Skylab requires energy from the Solar module to function. So if a collector is de-activated, it is because there was not enough energy to run it, so this would require you to upgrade the Solar module to maximize the energy.

What is the Xeno module?[]

The Xeno module is a counterpart to the Promerium refinery. You must have the Xeno module at the same level or higher as the Promerium refinery in order to make Promerium.

Transport module, how long is it?[]

Once you have transported ore to or from your ship after clicking Send, it will take time depending on how much was sent. The timer then counts down using real time and once completed, it will show "Transport Complete", and the ore will be at the location sent. It takes 7.2 seconds per ore to transport, no matter what ore it is, or if you send from ship to skylab or in the opposite direction.

Tips[]

  • Always keep building your Basic Module, Solar Module and Collectors. Your Refineries should come after you upgrade your collectors.
  • Knowing how much to transport is important because of the time it takes. The ratio for this is 500 material: 60minutes (8 materials: 1 minute) (2 times as fast if the user has premium). Therefore, if you need Seprom or Promerium fast, than send 2 for the moment. This will take about 20 seconds to get your ship and last you 20 minutes of time on shields or engines (Seprom CANNOT be used for speed generators). This will give you time to do what you need while you wait for your next transport. If you prefer 5, that's fine. 2 is just faster and it's better to wait the least amount of time.

Trivia[]

  • The Skylab was released during March 3, 2010, the Skylab is the update to the Lab.
  • At first this feature was called the Lab, it was later renamed to Skylab for unknown reasons.
