The Yamato is a tempting ship for beginners due to its large increase in hit points over the Phoenix. Though this ship is tempting to beginners its better to use the money you start with to bid on the leonu in the trade area because the 20000 will win the bid aboute 85% of the time. The small increases are of benefit to the new player, but there are major drawbacks to piloting this ship. The primary danger is that this ship is the exact kind used by the Streuner Yamato alien NPCs that everyone in the lower maps is out to kill. This may get your ship inadvertently destroyed by someone from your own company not paying attention. If you own this craft and are destroyed, you should not repair your ship at a cost of 500 uridium as it is usually easier to collect the 16,000cr to purchase the ship than 500 uridium.
